Byte Poet holds no provider credentials of its own. You add your own keys once — encrypted, per user — and every agent uses them. You pay the provider directly, at their price, with no markup in between. All-inclusive plans that cover the models for you are next.
Claude, Gemini and OpenAI through one keyless proxy — your key travels with the request and is never stored on it.
Hundreds of models behind a single key, called directly with your credentials. The live catalogue is fetched from OpenRouter, never hardcoded.
Point an Ollama-compatible endpoint at the platform and run offline. Local turns cost nothing and never leave your machine.
Code, Chat and Constructions all read the same model list, so a model you enable is a model every agent can use.

The backend is the only source of truth, and privacy is enforced at the layer that matters — not promised in a footer.
Every API body is encrypted end to end; sensitive columns and model keys are ciphered before they ever touch storage.
Tools are jailed to the workspace. No path traversal, no cross-user reach. Data is scoped by user, everywhere.
Raw mic capture is modulated on-device to biometric-safe audio before a single byte is sent. Preview and edit before it reaches a model.
Each agent is built to run in its own isolated pod — ready to scale from one user to many without entangling the others.

What is Byte Poet?
Byte Poet is a hosted platform of isolated AI agents. Each agent — Code, Chat, Constructions — is a self-contained application with its own workspace, memory and tools, rather than one chatbot wearing different hats. You pick the agent that fits the task, hand it the work, and watch it run.
What can Byte Poet's agents actually do?
They run a real tool loop: read and edit files, run terminal commands, search a codebase, drive a browser, query a language server, and read back exit codes, diagnostics and test results before deciding what to do next. The Code agent works in a three-panel IDE with checkpoints, git and verification gates; the Chat agent researches the live web, generates documents and draws charts inline.
Which AI models does Byte Poet support?
Byte Poet is model-agnostic. Claude, Gemini and OpenAI models run through a single keyless proxy; OpenRouter's catalogue is called directly with your own key; and any Ollama-compatible local endpoint works offline. Every agent reads the same model catalogue, so a model you enable is available everywhere.
How much does Byte Poet cost?
Byte Poet is bring-your-own-key. You add your own provider keys, and the provider bills you directly at their price — there is no markup, no token resale and no minimum. The platform itself is free during the private beta, local models cost nothing, and all-inclusive plans that cover the models are planned but not yet priced.
Is my code and data private on Byte Poet?
Every API request and response body is encrypted end to end on top of TLS, sensitive content is encrypted at rest, and provider keys are sealed with a separate cipher and never placed in an environment variable, a log or the frontend bundle. Agent tools are confined to your own workspace, and raw microphone audio is modulated in the browser so your voice never leaves your device.
How do I get access to Byte Poet?
Byte Poet is in private beta and sign-in is limited to allowlisted accounts, because per-tenant sandboxing of the agent's terminal is still being hardened. Email us to request access and we will add you to the list.
